More Colour-ringed Godwits in County Clare

On the 20th October John Murphy found a flock of 310 godwits feeding on the north shore of the Ballyallia Lake just north of Ennis in county Clare in Ireland. In the flock he found two colour-ringed Black-tailed Godwits - Green Orange White Red Flag and Lime Green White Red Flag. Both birds we ringed in 2007 as chicks in Iceland: Green Orange White Red flag was ringed on the 8th July 2007 at Klukkufell/Gillastadir (road 60), NE of Reykholar, NW Iceland by Astrid Kant and this is the 3rd resighting. The previous two were on the 11th and 17th Jamuary 2008 at Gortnorabeey, near Crossmolina, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Lime Green White Red flag was ringed by Ruth Croger on the 14th July 2007 at Skajdalaekur, Dalvik, Eyjafjordur (road 807), N Iceland and this is the first resighting of it.
