Yet another July '08 Godwit chick is seen, this time in Scotland

Yesterday at Blackness (on the border of Central Region and Lothian Region), Scotland Mervyn Griffin saw 102 Black-tailed Godwits feeding at low tide. In the flock he noticed one colour ringed bird and managed to read the combination Red Black/ Orange Red flag. This bird was ringed as a chick in Olafsfjordur, Northern Iceland on the 14th July by the godwit team led by Pete Potts. This is the 9th chick from the July trip to be resighted. It was seen in the same area on the 13th September so obvioulsy likes the Scottish hospitality! It's sibling was seen in Northern Ireland showing that they did not stay together after fledging.
